I created GlutenFreeGal to:

– Educate readers on the latest nutrition and healthy living news
– Advocate & Raise Awareness for Celiac disease and safe gluten free food
– Share healthy recipes and top product picks you can trust
– Have a voice in deciding what you and I put in and on our bodies

After being diagnosed in Nov. 2010 with Celiac disease, I had absolutely no idea what a huge lifestyle change I was about to make. As I started to research celiac disease and gluten-free, it became very apparent that every morsel of food we put into our mouth affects us; how we feel, what we say, how we act.

My goal as a healthy food advocate is to create Awareness and Understanding about the declining state of the American Food System as a whole and be apart of the movement that changes it. Change starts one person at a time.

My goal as a Celiac & Gluten Free advocate is to shine the light on the cracks in the floor that Celiacs fall through daily when it comes to the food we eat. Celiac-Safe gluten free food vs gluten-free food defined loosely by the person selling it.

 **ADVICE**

ALWAYS ALWAYS READ LABELS! If you can’t read labels then ask questions. If you don’t get the answer that you are looking for, then do not eat it.  I have made many food mistakes along my Celiac/GlutenFree journey, hopefully I can educate to help others make better decisions along their own.

Don’t ever be embarrassed to ask questions about the food you are putting in your body, and don’t ever assume that the person handling or cooking your food knows more about your disease than you do.

Thank you for sharing your experience , and your efforts are appreciated not only to increase the awareness of others about foods, nutrition, and disease, but also to start thinking more about our bodies and how it interacts with foods .

This goes a long way to say, with our civilized life, we are paying the price for exposing our bodies to many different chemicals, modified products, that our bodies are reacting, and refusing to accept.

    Great effort

First off I would like to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question
that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear
your head before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.

    Any recommendations or tips? Kudos!

    1. I just pick a topic I am interested in and start writing without thinking to much so I don’t get bogged down in that 10-15. After that I go back and edit and sometimes the initial idea has morphed into something else 🙂 Thanks for checking me out.
